All I can say is never totally drain the battery and if possible use it with a small size powerbank. I have a similar problem, I bought a psp used, bought a new battery and it was working fine, but then it randomly shut off and won't turn on or charge even though it had half batter. Got a new charger and it worked great, at least it did once.
